Dear Family, Friends and colleagues from Stefan
I miss Stefan so very dearly every day and have him close to my heart every step of my ways.
This Website is a lovely idea for all remembering together.
So I would like to share some of my personal memories by sharing the speech I wrote for our beautiful memorial gathering for Stefan in 2024.
Perhaps some of you also like to remember this very special get together for Stefans heartfelt farewell.
Take care and sending Lots of Love to everybody that might know me.
Carol
„Hello everyone,
My name is Carol and I’ve travelled from Aachen to be here with you, to bid a heartfelt farewell to one of my dearest friends in life, our beloved Stefan.
Dear Alen, dear Huber family, dear friends of Stefan,
my deepest sympathies are with you.
I met Stefan in 1990 at the Aachener Stadttheater,
where he performed as a member of the ensemble and
successfully toured with his cabaret group, the Tietzes.
From this encounter and shared enthusiasm, a wonderful friendship blossomed over many decades.
All the Tietzes, not just Stefan, became friends, and I,
along with many others in Aachen, family and friends,
recall great concerts we organized together, homemade
soups backstage, and parties in our garden and partycellar
that lasted until the sun greated the morning.
Aachen also celebrated Stefan’s directorial debut, Linie 1,
and rejoiced with him at every step of his subsequently
dazzling and expanding career.
Numerous projects and premieres followed, and it was
always a great honor for me to be there in the audience
member and as a friend for many of them.
Numerous unforgettable journeys and evenings together.
Together with Stefan, whether as an actor or later as a
director, so many, surely also amongst you here today,
have written theatre history with him.
For me, Stefan was above all a friend, and for this
friendship, I will always be infinitely grateful in my
heart.
It was one of those special friendships where every
meeting, even after months and across countries, felt as
if the last had just been yesterday.
From the bottom of my heart,
a last farewell, dear friend.
A final thunderous applause,
so that you may hear us wherever you are.
I say goodbye,
…you know,
as your number one fan.“
